On Sunday 29th March, Pastor David Purse took time to publicly recognise the tremendous efforts of the Safeguarding Team, the morning the new Safeguarding Policy for 2026 was launched. The current team, which was formed in early 2025 have made huge steps forward in Whitewell’s safeguarding.
In the last year, over 120 volunteers have gone through their safeguarding training, over 60 AccesNI checks were performed, and many new volunteers have gone through the safer recruitment processes. The team has also visited many of our ministries, performed risk assessments, built relationships with leaders, developed our new policy and at the same time handled all the safeguarding concerns that have been brought to them.
So we want to pay tribute to the incredible hard work of this team. To Tim our safeguarding lead, Alan our Trustee responsible for safeguarding, to Sarah and Cherith who make up the team, and to Julie who provides all the administrative support to the team. Thank you!
Today we say goodbye to Cherith from the team, and we want to thank her for all the hard work and effort she has put in, and we say hello to Graham and Catherine who are joining. As a team you have our full support and our confidence. Thank you for all that you do.
